Maybe in hindsight, 2020 will be held in higher regard… but right now I’m happy to be resetting plans for the new year, with hopes that 2021 eventually returns us to some semblance of normalcy.
At year-end I completed my 2020 Daily Collage journal, after adding one composition each day. Here’s a quick video so you can get a sense of it. I used a Leuchtturm1917 diary which had a blank Note page after every Sunday. I sometimes forgot and did the following Monday’s collage on that undated page, so there are a few more than 365 collages included! Working in the book each day was a grounding practice for me — and I’ve enjoyed seeing how chubby the little book became as the year progressed.
I’ve started another diary and am posting images of the datebook pages daily on my Instagram story if you’d like to see them on a regular basis.
My 2020 show at Spark Gallery has been rescheduled for April 1 - 25, 2021 so I’m working hard on pulling together recent collage explorations. More to come on that…
Here’s to a bright, happy, healthy new year!
